Virginia, USA — 20 August 2026 — The African Council on Foreign Relations (ACFR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Chimezie Anyakora, Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Public Health, as Distinguished Fellow in Sustainable Health Diplomacy and Strategic Diplomacy.

Professor Anyakora is widely recognized as one of Africa’s foremost experts in pharmaceutical quality systems, public health strengthening, and medicines security. Through his leadership at Bloom Public Health, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives across Nigeria, Rwanda, Botswana, Cameroon, and multiple regional blocs—advancing regulatory capacity, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable health governance.

His appointment as Distinguished Fellow reflects ACFR’s commitment to elevating African expertise in global governance and strengthening the continent’s leadership in health diplomacy. In this role, Professor Anyakora will contribute to ACFR’s strategic mission through:
